Code of Conduct for Online Vehicle Trading
Efficient and successful vehicle trading is no longer conceivable without the internet today. However, the high quality of the online offering must be maintained.

The initiators protect their users and members from fraudulent attempts and dubious offers through the greatest possible transparency.

The Code of Conduct is aimed at commercial online dealers, dealer and consumer associations, and all operators of online vehicle exchanges.

Here are some examples of the points the partners have jointly regulated:

The Code of Conduct specifies how the content of an advertisement should be made as transparent as possible. For example, it defines binding vehicle categories and descriptions: What exactly distinguishes “new car,” “year-old car,” and “demonstration car”? The term “accident vehicle” is also defined.
The code specifies which advertising information and conduct rules are required for motor vehicle dealers – for example, which information on mileage and first registration must be provided.
The rules of conduct and definitions are binding for users of the participating online vehicle marketplaces and association members. Violations result in sanctions, including exclusion. For example, a dealer who offers vehicles to private buyers at net prices or a car “plus delivery costs” must expect negative sanctions from the online vehicle marketplaces.

Vehicle dealers undertake to provide complete and truthful information regarding the vehicle category and features, as well as the price, and to comply with the legal requirements and the vehicle marketplaces’ terms of use.
